In this article, the socio - psychological mechanisms of the formation of psychological competence in students and the communication skills of students are reflected on the development of professional competencies in them. The current state of the problem of innovative competency of students is analyzed and personal qualities that ensure the effectiveness of innovation are considered. They are active participants in innovative activities in the educational institution and are teachers and students. The results of the study of the personal characteristics of individuals who are not interested in innovative competence and innovative activities are also presented.
